Soccer Clip

Joshua playing his heart out. You may notice that everyone is yelling #10 instead of his name. This is because he gave us strict instructions to say "Go number 10! not go Joshua!" Funny little man.

He also is so funny when he falls he gets up and points to his shin guards telling us how good they are!

Hail!!

We had a hail storm back at the beginning of March! Some pretty big hail for this California girl!

Gardening

This week during Spring break, we decided that we would plant a garden! The weather was so beautiful and perfect for working outside.

We began by clearing the spot from all the winter debris. Joshua worked right along side of us.

Then we borrowed a tiller and Charley got to work!

Then we gathered the railroad ties that were lying out on our property for the frame.

We created a little path to where the gate will be. We will be fencing it in due to the MANY rabbits we have living among the bushes! The front will be perennials and inside will be corn, carrots, green beans, lettuce, yellow squash, zucchini, and strawberries!

Joshua enjoyed some hose time!

Angus enjoyed a little sunning time.

Joshua's First Soccer Practice

So we have been waiting, and the time is finally here! Joshua began with his first soccer season! Well, technically it is a mini season. Just a six week Spring fling thing! Perfect way for him to test it out and see if it is something he will like! We bought him cleats and a soccer ball last week and he has been talking non-stop about it! ( Sorry Apolo Ohno, you will return as his topic soon, I have no doubt!) For now, it has been so exciting. Today was his first practice and he LOVED it! He ran hard and listened well to his coach. Here are a couple of pics to give a taste of his time.

The first meeting with some instructions.

Running for practice.

Love the hair blowing in the wind!

Learning to move the ball.

Focusing on that ball!

Coach Damon teaching some game rules.

Love how into it they all are!! He had told them when they huddle up, they sit on their balls and listen. So cute!

A Little Art from the Heart

So Joshua has not really been very interested in drawing or coloring. He has, up until now, been mostly interested in being creative in lots of other ways! But this past week, he drew this picture of our cat Starbucks and I just think it is delightful and so I thought I would share! I love these early drawings that kids do! I so remember how fun it was when I taught Kindergarten! Now my own baby is doing these things and it is even more enjoyable!!
