March is Kite Flying Month!!

In school we always talked about March being kite flying month. Well, it has been true here in Arkansas/Texas, this year. In the background of the picture below, you can see our church. We are living in the mission house which belongs to the church and backs up to this field, which is the church property. We have the PERFECT kite flying field, literally in our backyard. So we have been taking advantage of that! We purchased this kite in California, back in the summer of 2006, in anticipation of Joshua's impending arrival. It looks so cool against the beautiful, blue sky! Joshua squealed with excitement as the kite rose higher and higher with the wind. It was so much fun to share this thrill with him. He wants to do it every day now!! His newest obsession! A great one to have, I think!

Springtime in Arkansas/Texas!

Well, Spring has sprung here in our neck of the woods!! It is just BEAUTIFUL! We are just loving all the lovely blossoms in the trees and the delightful weather. Here are just a few shots (okay more than just a few :-) ) of our days under the pretty blue sky.

Here is our Gotcha video of Joshua. I just came across it again and since we did not have the ability to put it on the blog back on October 30, 2006, I thought it would be cool to put it on now. You can see how much Joshua has grown and changed. You can also see how precious that moment was for us. What a sweetie!!

From Winter Snow to Spring Sun

Crazy how we are going from snow one day and sunny warm spring weather the next!! All I can say is that we are just taking advantage of that outdoor time!! Joshua is really into bike riding right now. Whether on his tricycle or on the back of Marianne's bike, he just loves it and begs to do it whenever possible.

Bird feeder!

We got a new bird feeder to put in our yard and it has been so much fun to see all the birds that come to snack. Yesterday it was sunny and this cardinal came for a bite to eat. This morning it is SNOWING!!! The little guy below was hanging out in the tree above the feeder. He looks like he may have indulged a few times already, since he looks a little chubby! So cute! Joshua has been loving it. The birds are so busy and he loves to imitate their chirping.

Black and White Photography

I have been fiddling around with the whole black and white photo thing and am just really addicted to the look. I am wanting to try EVERYTHING out in black and white! That is one of the coolest features of digital photography, you can do that and then just "ctrl z" if it doesn't look that great!! Here are some of my experiments.
