Family Fun Time

On Sunday, we went to Shreveport/Bossier, LA, Riverwalk. We rode the "merry-go-around" (Joshua's name for it) and walked in the beautiful sunshine.

This one cracks me up!

Okay, and Joshua has to have his jacket buttoned up to his neck at all times! I mean no way can we just wear it open! Too funny!

The dancing fountain is always a treat to watch.

This week it was also sunny enough to play outside in the dirt. So that is what we did!

"Come on, look up and let me see your new sunglasses!"

"That's better!" CHEESE!

Today, Friday, we had an ice cream cone!! It was a chocolate dipped cone from Dairy Queen.

Totally into it!

Life is good! Thank you God, for ice cream cones!

So Joshua had his Valentines Day party at school yesterday. Though he did not go to school, we did drop by to party with his friends!

We made his valentines with that foam stuff. I traced the hearts and he cut them out. (He did great but I did have to cut some of them because it was taking so long!) He chose Thomas the Train stickers to embellish with and some sticky foam hearts. I also printed out 2 Bible verses, 1 Corinthians 13:13 for the front and John 3:16 for the back. We added some doilies and he "signed" his name, and voila!! Precious treasures. Oh and we put magnets on the back so his friends could hang them on the fridge if they wanted!

He was still a little subdued when we were at the party. Understandable with all that he has been through, but he was glad to see his friends again and they have been missing him too!

And here is his sweet best friend Erin! This is one of the reasons that I think he likes her so much, she just dives into life and enjoys it to the fullest and that is Joshua's philosophy too! What a pair they are! God is good!!
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Surgery Day!

So this past week was surgery number 4 for our little man! He is such a trooper! Tonsils, Adnoids, fistula repair in the palate and a last revision at his nose!

Waiting together in the pre op waiting area.

Even with all the needle sticks and BP checks and what not, he still laughs and smiles.

Hanging out after getting the goofy juice that helps him forget what has happened.

Now does that not break your heart! Sweet boy all sad.

Watching Thomas the Train was one way to take the mind off of the misery. Thankfully we only had to stay one night in the hospital.

Random Pics from January

So here are some random photos we took in January. Random being the operative word on the first one!!

Just expressing myself! What WERE you thinking mama?

Getting as close to Starbucks as I can! I am not teasing her, really!

Man on a mission. Mama says we can play outside, so I gotta get to it!

Tonka trucks are so awesome.

But hey, if I put the dirt in here, then......

....I gotta take off the boot. I mean for reals I gotta dump it out!

I am so very clever!!

Nothing like a little rolling down the slide.....

....right into.....

....the dirt and grass!

Hilarious

Thank you God for a sunny winter's day!

Pure joy!

And Angus in his bushy winter coat, was chasing bunnies and squirrels.

Actually wore himself out!

Moments with Granny

Over the holidays we have had some precious time with Charley's Mamma. Mamma Lena just loves Joshua to come and give her some luvin'! He also is quite the charmer with the other residents at her assisted living place. He is so good about giving people high fives or just hugging there necks. Of course they just eat him and all of his bubbling energy up! What a huge blessing he is, in so many ways!! Thank you Lord, for this little man!

Frogmore Stew

Okay, not sure why it has that name, but this is what we ate at Charley's sister's house for Christmas Eve! It was absolutely fabulous so I wanted to share the recipe.

Almost finished

The shrimp is in and we are ready to drain and eat!!

And here is the chef, Janice! It was awesome!

Pitchford Family Christmas

Well, our Christmas was just wonderful. Joshua was really into wrapping presents with each of us for each other. He wanted to badly to have us open them!! When the day arrived, he went right to the gift that was for Charley so he could give it to him. Of course he had let it slip that, "we wrapped your present papa and it is a robe!" So that made it all the more fun!
He got Lincoln Logs from Aunt Peggy.

Angus was thrilled with the whole thing, as you can see!

Helping Mama with her gift.

The project with Lincoln Logs.

The neato doctor's kit from Uncle Robbie, Aunt Regina, Michaela and Jacob.

He knew right what to do with that thing, since that is a pretty regular part of his life, checking ears for fluid.
